
According to research done by my friend Dr. Mark Perry, who is professor of economics and finance in the School of Management at the University of Michigan, private sector employees earn only 90 cents on average (wages and benefits) for every one dollar that a public sector employee earns. And the pay gap between private sector employees and public school teachers is even greater (see graph).
